About Killy

Who is Killy?

I am Tomoko Kirihara — known as Killy.

69 years old. Born and raised in Tokyo. Life Navigator for over 23 years.

I have been through divorce, financial crisis, betrayal, and rebuilding from zero. I have written two books, built a community of thousands, and found a way of living that feels genuinely free.

I know what it feels like when nothing moves — no matter how hard you try.
And I know what it looks like when things finally begin to flow.

Rooted in Mahayana Buddhism

The Killy Method Life Navigation Session is not a technique.
It is ancient Buddhist wisdom, brought into the reality of everyday modern life.

After many years as a life coach, I kept questioning the idea of “looking inward” as the only path. Inner awareness matters — but I found that something deeper was needed. My path eventually led me to Mahayana Buddhism, which became the philosophical backbone of everything I teach.

Here are the six principles that shape the Killy Method Life Navigation Session:

① Jiri-Rita(自利利他)— Self and Others Rise Together
When you truly align yourself, you naturally become a source of support for others. You do not need to sacrifice yourself to help the world. Your own flourishing is your contribution.

② Ku(空)— Emptiness: Nothing is Fixed
In Buddhist thought, nothing has a permanent, unchanging essence — including you. The belief that “I can’t change because this is who I am” is simply a story. And because there is no fixed self to change, you are free. You don’t need to become someone else. You were never stuck to begin with.

③ Engi(縁起)— Everything Exists in Relationship
Nothing exists in isolation. You are always shaped by your relationships — with people, with work, with money, with place. This is why the Killy Method Life Navigation Session focuses on realigning your relationships with the outside world rather than forcing an internal transformation.

④ Bosatsu(菩薩)— The Bodhisattva Spirit
A bodhisattva does not seek personal enlightenment alone — they walk alongside others until all beings are free. This is why I believe: saving one person changes the world. One aligned life ripples outward, farther than we can see.

⑤ Shojin(精進)— Quiet Dedication
Not gritted-teeth effort. Not pushing through pain. Shojin is the quiet, daily act of keeping your own promises — small, consistent choices that accumulate into a life of integrity.

⑥ Chudo(中道)— The Middle Way
Don’t push too hard. Don’t give up too easily. Don’t blame yourself too much. Don’t become lazy. The truth lives in balance — and balance is something you can always return to.

How the Killy Method Life Navigation Session maps to these principles:

“Realign your relationship with the outside world” Engi
“Self and others rise together” Jiri-Rita

My Story

I was born and raised in Tokyo. From an early age, I learned to trust my own instincts — navigating a complicated family, finding my way largely on my own.

My grandmother had an unusual gift: she could perceive what most people cannot see. Growing up around her taught me that there is more to reality than the visible world. That understanding has been the quiet root of my work ever since.

I married twice. My second divorce came at 51, while my son was studying abroad. For years, I chased money out of necessity — and felt hollow doing it.

When my son became independent, I stopped and asked: What am I actually doing? Is this really my life?

That question changed everything.

I left my career in beauty, and turned my true work — life navigation — into my main profession. In 2020, COVID took my income to zero. I rebuilt everything online. Today, I work from wherever I am — and I help women do the same.

I am 69 years old. I have been through divorce, lawsuits, betrayal, and financial crisis. I have written two books, built a community of thousands, and found a way of living that feels genuinely free.

I know what it feels like when nothing moves — no matter how hard you try.
And I know what it looks like when things finally, quietly, begin to flow.
